There are three main sources of surnames:
① Originating from the surname Fan. According to "A Study of Surnames", in the late Spring and Autumn period, there was a Luan family in the state of Jin, which had great power and power over the court and the people. When Luan Ying arrived, his mother Luan Qi was the daughter of Fan Beggar. Due to being widowed in middle age, she secretly fled with her retainer Bin and was discovered by Luan Ying. Luan Qi took the initiative and went to his father Fan Beggar to accuse Luan Ying of plotting rebellion. Fan Beggar was worried that the influence of the Luan family would endanger the country, so he exiled Luan Ying on this grounds. Luan Ying openly rebelled in Quwo and borrowed elite troops from Qi. At the same time, he made an agreement with Wei Shu, the governor of the capital, to cooperate internally and externally. After everything was ready, Luan Ying suddenly sent troops to surround the capital, and Wei Shu quickly gathered his forces, preparing to open the city gates and let the rebels enter the city. At this extremely critical moment, Fan Yang, the thirteen year old son of Fan Beggar, rode alone to the front of Wei Shu's carriage and falsely claimed to be summoned by the lord. In the moment when Wei Shu was stunned, he jumped onto his chariot and kidnapped him with his sword. This is the story of "Xiao Fan Yang's Wisdom Moved Wei Shu" in history. Due to the robbery of Wei Shu and the lack of unity among the rebel army, the rebellion was quelled. Later, Fan Yang also came to power in the state of Jin. Because Fan Yang was young and handsome, brave and resourceful, he was known as General Hua. Among his descendants, there was a person named Fan Wenchen who admired Fan Yang's style and took his nickname as his surname, which was later changed to Hua surname.
