Han surname

The lineage is inherited from Tang Shuyu, and the ancestor is Han Jue. It is the 25th surname among the top 100 contemporary Chinese families. The ancestors of the Han family who immigrated to Hongdong Da Huai Shu during the Ming Dynasty were from the two prefectures of Pingyang and Taiyuan, the five prefectures of Ze, Lu, Liao, Fen, and Qin, and the two counties of Hongdong and Zhaocheng. In the early Ming Dynasty, it was ordered that the large locust trees in Hongdong be concentrated and relocated to other places. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, their descendants were distributed in Henan, Shandong, Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shanxi and other places. The earliest record of the Han surname can be found in the Tang Dynasty's Yuanhe Surname Compilation.

There are two main origins of surnames: ① Originating from the Ji surname. According to the "Genealogy Summary" in the "Tongzhi", "Customs and Customs Tongyi", and "Genealogy Table of Prime Ministers" in the "New Book of Tang", in the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty, after Zhou Gongdan conquered the Tang Dynasty, King Cheng of Zhou granted Tang territory to his younger brother Yu, known as the State of Jin in history. As the capital was established in the Tang Dynasty, Yu was also known as Tang Shuyu. During the Spring and Autumn period, Marquis Zhao of Jin conferred upon his uncle Cheng Shi in Quwo, causing a division and later unifying the Duke of Quwo. After Duke Wu of Qu Wo seized the throne of Jin, he destroyed the South Korea built by the younger brother of King Cheng of Zhou, and granted his uncle Ji Wan the title of Han Wuzi. Han Jue, the great grandson of Wuzi, took the fief as his surname. At that time, Han Yi was located in the southwestern region of present-day Hancheng, Shaanxi. The Han family had always been listed as a minister in the state of Jin. At the beginning of the Warring States period, Han Qian, the seventh generation grandson of Han Jue, divided Jin with the Zhao and Wei families, and Han became a vassal state. South Korea was also one of the Seven Heroes of the Warring States period. At the beginning, South Korea was established as its capital in Pingyang. By 403 BC, it was recognized as a vassal state by King Weilie of Zhou and its capital was Yangzhai. In 375 BC, Han Aihou conquered the state of Zheng and moved its capital to Xinzheng. It lasted for eight generations until King Xiang of Han's warehouse was destroyed by the state of Qin in 230 BC, and his descendants used the country's name Han as their surname. Most of them lived in the ancient Yingchuan County. By the end of the Western Han Dynasty, Han Qian, the governor of Henan, moved to the ancient Nanyang County to avoid the rebellion of Wang Mang. Therefore, the Han surname could be seen in Yingchuan and Nanyang. It is a Han surname from Shaanxi and Henan.

② Originating from other ethnic groups and changing one's surname. According to the "Official Family Annals" in the "Book of Wei", the Xianbei tribe of Northern Wei had a three character surname of the Great Khan clan. After Emperor Xiaowen of Wei moved the capital to Luoyang, the Han surname was changed to a single Han surname due to the similarity in pronunciation between Han and Han.

The counties with the Han surname mainly include Yingchuan County and Nanyang County. Nanyang Commandery: Established in the 35th year of King Zhao of Qin during the Warring States period (272 BC). The jurisdiction is equivalent to the southwestern part of Henan Province and the northeastern part of Hubei Province today.

Yingchuan, Nanyang, Qizhan, and Changli are also the main hall names of the Han family. Weeping Staff Hall: During the Han Dynasty, Han Boyu was the most filial. Once he made a mistake, his mother hit him with a cane, and his tears rained down like rain. My mother asked strangely, "I used to hit you, and you accepted it with joy. Why are you crying today?" Boyu cried out loud and said to her, "Mom! You used to hurt me, and I knew my mother was healthy and strong, so I liked it. Today, when the stick fell on me, I didn't feel any pain at all. I knew my mother was weak, so I was sad and cried."
